About Cuisine India Society

Cuisine India Society, established in 2010, is dedicated to preserving, promoting, and popularizing the rich heritage of Bharat’s cuisine, both nationally and internationally. With a mission to create awareness about the social, scientific, health, and enjoyable aspects of traditional culinary practices, the Society strives to maintain consumer interest in the authentic culinary story of Bharat. It aims to dispel the myth that only Western cuisine is healthy and to position Bharat’s cuisine as exotic, trendy, and accessible.

The Society was conceptualized with the belief that food is a powerful form of soft power, offering an unmatched sensory experience. Bharat’s cuisine, with its immense range and depth, holds significant market potential. By presenting it in a glamorous and upscale manner, the Society aims to attract global travellers and enhance Bharat’s image as a desirable destination.

The Society was established to confront challenges such as the lack of comprehensive research and standardization of heritage cuisines, the absence of an extensive database documenting authentic recipes, and the need for greater public awareness and branding. By addressing these issues, it seeks to champion the richness of traditional Bharat’s foods as a counterpoint to the rising dominance of fast food, promoting sustainable practices and strengthening the rural economy by supporting farmers and local food producers.

Bharat has long understood the medicinal value of food, as outlined in the Charak Samhita, which describes how ingredients not only nourish the body but also restore balance and heal the mind. Traditional recipes serve as time-tested solutions for health and well-being, making them more relevant than ever in today’s world. This fusion of science and tradition underscores the importance of preserving and promoting Bharat’s culinary heritage.

Cuisine India Society actively collaborates with policymakers to advocate for initiatives that remove barriers to the promotion of Bharat’s food traditions. It supports organizing national and international food festivals to foster greater appreciation of the culinary diversity that defines Bharat. The Society envisions creating an exhibition space where culinary innovation and cultural traditions converge, highlighting Bharat’s rich gastronomic journey.

As the Ramayana aptly states, “Janani Janmabhoomischa Swargadapi Gariyasi”—“Mother and Motherland are greater than heaven.” By honoring Bharat’s culinary traditions, the Society honors the wisdom of its forebears and the spirit of its people. In every spice, recipe, and ritual lies a story of heritage, resilience, and identity.

In its journey forward, Cuisine India Society aligns itself with the vision of a Viksit Bharat. By preserving and celebrating Bharat’s culinary traditions, it seeks to not only connect the present to its roots but also build a foundation for a prosperous and harmonious future. Through innovation and strategic efforts, the Society aspires to position Bharat’s cuisine as a symbol of health, sustainability, and shared prosperity on the global stage.
