Jivitputrika or jitiya Jivitputrika or jitiya is a festival celebrated for the well being and prosperity of the children. Mothers fast and pray for the long life of their kids. This is mainly celebrated in the states of Bihar, Jharkhand & Uttar Pradesh. Nahai khai – This is the preparatory day and as per the rituals – Mothers take bath in the morning and take food. BCIHMCT, in continuance of its pursuit for excellence in Hospitality, Travel & Tourism, is organizing the “India International Hotel, Travel & Tourism Research Conference -IIHTTRC 2012” to be held from 1st to 3rd February, 2012 at BCIHMCT, New Delhi.

Hospitality, Travel and Tourism Trends, Technology and Innovation will be the theme for this year’s three day India International Hotel Travel and Tourism Research Conference being organized by Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Hotel Management New Delhi. In all, 27 Research Papers shall be presented in the Conference beside Key Note during the sessions by the Speaker Professor Nigel Hemmington, Pro Vice-Chancellor, International Dean, Faculty of Applied Humanities, Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand. Mr Sivaprasad Gangadharan, Regional Director- Subcontinent Sales, IDeaS - A SAS COMPANY and Prof. S.C Bagri, Dean, School of Management & Director - Centre for Mountain Tourism & Hospitality Studies with HNB Garhwal University shall be the other Speaker in the Conference. PadmaShri Inder Sharma, Chairman, Select Group and Ms. Shashwati Ghosh, Asst Vice President, Strategic Initiative, Govt. & Advisory, Yes Bank shall grace the occasion as the Guests of Honour.
Mr. Inder Sharma is a name synonymous with the Indian Travel & Tourism industry, fondly referred to as “The Travel Man of India”. His journey in the industry started in 1956 to build India’s truly professional travel management organization- SITA World Travels India. Today, Mr. Inder Sharma, Chairman of Select Group, has also ventured into the successful businesses of Hotels & Shopping Centre development apart from travel and tourism sector. Mr. Sharma’s illustrious career has been acclaimed both internationally and within India with top notch accolades from PATA, WATA, TAAI, IATO, FICCI and the PHD Chamber of Commerce. In fact in 1990, the Government of India honored Mr. Sharma with a PadmaShri and to date, he is the only representative of the Indian travel fraternity to have been bestowed with this distinguished award. His presence is an added advantage for participants of the conference.
The focus of the conference is on Technology Trends in Hospitality, Travel and Tourism Industry. The refereed papers cover various topics such as Social Media Influence on Tourism Decisions; Exploring the impact of E-Tourism on Hospitality Marketing Practices; Empowerment of Sustainable Management of Tourism Operations through Eco-Tourism and Community based Tourism; Trends in Tourism and Hospitality Education. These presentations would be taking place in parallel tracks including few other topics like Gap in Tourism Education & Industry Needs and Destination Management & Marketing. Students from various colleges are also invited to attend these sessions and present Models and Posters relevant to the theme of the conference. More than 40 renowned experts from across the globe will deliberate on the latest developments in the field of Technology Service Systems.
The Papers being presented will cover online use of Technology to increase the efficiency and potential for the Hotel & Travel Business. Its use for destination and online branding along with the application of full automation in the organization for service quality enhancement would also be focused upon. The responsible tourism, eco-tourism and emerging technology & innovation trends in Hospitality Education will also be an important field of discussion during the three days conference.
