It is a general term used for vegetable preparations. The hindi version of tarkari is Subzi.

Originally the word is from Persia, Tarkari first meant uncooked garden vegetables and later it is considered as cooked vegetables.

Misti Doi is synonymous with Bengal literally means sweet curd. Mishti Doi is among their well known desserts.
